Strategic portfolio optimization: WEKA discontinues TLI IndustryLine…
WEKA has successfully obtained KGS factory approval. This approval is a prerequisite to supply valves classified as "emergency cut-off devices" to Korea. Obtaining the factory approval involved intensive preparatory work and a 3-day on-site audit by Korean inspectors.
With this approval WEKA strengthens its position as a component supplier for the hydrogen market.
KGS approval is the general export permit for pressure equipment to Korea. The KGS certificate is issued by the Korea Gas Safety Corporation (KGS) for audited product categories. Pressure equipment may not be imported into Korea without KGS factory registration.
The Korea Gas Safety Corporation (KGS) is a government organization under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE).
Its duties and responsibilities stem from various regulations relevant to the gas and high-pressure industries, which since 2020 have included the Hydrogen Economy Promotion and Hydrogen Safety Management Act (Hydrogen Act).
