WEKA EcoVadis Update 2025: Bronze Status and Real Sustainability

64 points, Bronze status – and why we're proud of it

Our EcoVadis Scorecard update shows 64/100 points, earning Bronze status. We dropped 2 points from 2024's Silver rating (66/100), but Bronze still places WEKA ahead of most companies in our industry. Many don't pursue certification at all, and those that do often struggle to reach this level.

The real challenge: Documentation vs. action

Sustainability certification requirements are escalating rapidly. What qualified as proof in 2024 no longer meets 2025 standards. The challenge isn't maintaining sustainable practices – it's documenting them in increasingly complex formats.

More paperwork equals higher costs, but doesn't necessarily equal more environmental impact. Classic certification business model.

Where WEKA invests instead

  • 67% procurement from Swiss suppliers
  • 100% renewable electricity (hydro, solar, wood pellets)
  • 1.1% reduction in energy per kg product
  • Recycled packaging and reusable systems
  • Economy travel and efficient vehicles

These are daily decisions that reduce actual environmental footprint.

Our choice

When allocating resources, WEKA prioritizes tangible improvements over documentation overhead. We participate in EcoVadis and value external validation, but we invest primarily in real sustainability measures.

The industry question

As certification requirements multiply, companies face a choice: How much administrative burden can we absorb before it crowds out actual environmental investment?

Bronze with 64 points represents real achievement. We're proud of it – and committed to continuous improvement.
