Expertise for Extreme Operating Conditions
Energy storage is a central question of the energy transition. Hydrogen is stored gaseous in high-pressure containers or liquid at cryogenic temperatures. Liquid hydrogen (LH2) requires only one-seventh the volume of hydrogen gas (GH2) and enables significant space savings at fueling stations.
At LH2 fueling stations, liquid hydrogen is pumped through an evaporator, vaporized, and then filled gaseous into the vehicle under high pressure of 350-700 bar. Considering pressure losses in the line, valves must be designed for up to 1000 bar nominal pressure.

Specially manufactured WEKA stainless steel high-pressure valves with special surface treatments to prevent material embrittlement and special sealing methods for safe operation up to 1000 bar.
For cryogenic applications, we offer reliable cryogenic valves and cryogenic couplings with minimal heat loss for temperatures down to 20K (-253°C).

Available in sizes DN2 to DN250 for low-pressure applications and DN2 to DN50 for medium/high-pressure applications, depending on the pressure rating in nominal pressure ranges PN280, PN420, PN640, PN1000.
Equipment with pneumatic actuator for control or shut-off valves or with manual actuator for maximum operational safety.
